Rowan Class- Year 3 and 4

In Rowan Class the children continue to learn in a fun and exciting way, however the learning becomes more formal. There is big emphasis on building on the literacy and numeracy skills that they have learned in Key Stage 1. The children in Class 3 learn through the creative curriculum. Big idea topics are chosen by the children and the curriculum is developed around these themes. The children have the opportunity to research ideas and are encouraged to work collaboratively in pairs and in groups.  This develops their self -confidence and gives them the opportunity to formulate their own questions. We take the interests of the children into consideration and they are stakeholders in their own learning. We continue the learning journey. The children build upon their skills as they progress through Key Stage 2. They are aware of their targets and what they need to do to improve their work and make good progress. Most of all the children have fun and enjoy working and learning together.
