 Hazel Class- Year 2

In Hazel Class children follow the Year 2 National Curriculum working towards end of year expectations. We offer a creative curriculum where children’s skills and knowledge develop through ‘Big Ideas’. Every subject within the curriculum links to our Big Idea. Children are encouraged to ask questions, investigate and complete challenges. Learning is inspiring, exciting and relevant! In Year 2 learning becomes more structured in preparation for KS2. Children are encouraged to be more independent and be role models for Key Stage 1.

Phonics

In Early Years and throughout Key Stage 1 we have a rigorous approach to Phonics Teaching.  Children work in small groups throughout the unit with precisely targeted support.  We use 'Letters and Sounds' to inform our planning.
