Phonics in the snow!

Call the Midwife!

This week a special little someone's baby brother was bathed by a midwife. We learnt all about how to care for a baby. The children have since been bathing and baptising the dolls.

We have had a brilliant week in Willow Class! We had our class party, ate some yummy food and had  a disco and played party games, then had a visit from SANTA! We even got some special presents. Have a very Merry Christmas everyone and stay safe. See you for more adventures in January!

Cursive writing!

We have been learning to form lots of our sounds from phonics in cursive handwriting. This is very tricky, but in Willow Class we like learning hard things and we don't give up. To help us with these small tricky movements, we do lots of big movements too. Running around and jumping help with our writing too. The children are always SO proud when they master a new letter.

The children requested we carry out an experiment, as they loved doing this when we made fairy potions. So, we discussed what ingredients we would need and predicted what would happen. To add more bubbles, the children decided to blow into tubes. They LOVED doing this!

The King and Queen!

We have had Royalty in our class this week. The King and Queen got married, had an anniversary and a baby! They gave children invitations for dinner at Buckingham Palace at 7 o'clock (and told them to wear their best clothes!)

The Polar Express!

One lucky child in our class has been on the Polar Express! So, they had to answer lots of questions from their very intrigued friends. The children loved trains so much they made their own Polar Express and served hot chocolates. We even made our own trains and decorated them. We did lots of design work and discussed 3D shapes too.
