Year 1 Challenge!

We are starting to get ready for the transition into Year 1... where is time going?! Our challenges are all based on the whole school Big Idea, Beside the Seaside. 

We read the Lighthouse Keepers Lunch, then organised the food from Mrs Grinlings kitchen into 'healthy' and 'unhealthy' categories.

Welcome to the Show!

The children have been putting on performances this week. They have been making and selling tickets, making refreshments and rehearsing in costumes. We filmed them on the iPad and watched them back later.

Inventors!

Willow Class have been inventors this week... First we investigated some old laptops, we unscrewed them and explored what was inside them. We made books about what we found too. The children loved using them to pretend to be inventing robots.

A special person has built us a workbench! The children were loving playing in role as builders and construction site workers. Now they have a real work bench to use.

Mini-beasts!

Some children have been really interested in Spiders, in particular tarantulas. So we ave researched them, made books about them, created a 'spider land' with caves and tunnels and we have put on a puppet show. Great story telling!

World Book Day!

We loved coming to school dressed in our PJ's! We read lots of our favourite bed-time stories throughout the day. We have been reading independently and to our friends in our new tee-pee too.

We have had a celebratory week in Willow Class! We have been dressing up in our finest clothes and role-playing weddings. We have also has Christenings and baptised babies with Holy Water.
