Cricket Weather Today!

Today, the children enjoyed the glorious sunshine, while developing their cricket skills.  They took part in a carousel of activites focusing on the following skills: throwing, catching, batting and bowling.  Then they took these skills and applied them into a game situation.

Forest Fun

Yesterday afternoon, the children participated in a range of Forest Schools activities, led by specialist teacher 'Wolf'.

The children participated in a range of activities, including:

Creating Knots

Building Shelters

Classifying different plants

Whittling sticks

Building a fire

 

A great afternoon had by all involved.

Big Idea

As Part of our Big Idea ' We are Outdoors' , the children have created and designed their own Forest School's Tour, using Scratch Programming.  As part of this, they have had to manipulate characters and create specific instructions.

Christian Aid

Today, Oak Class were lucky enough to participate in a Christian Aid Workshop.

They worked in groups to understand more about the running of Christian Aid, and were able to think carefully about what they can do to help this charity.

Another great Open The Book!

This week the Open The Book team told us the story of the walls of Jericho. It reminded us of how God keeps his promises and how we need to persevere when things don't work out straight away.
